I hope all is going well with you and that your are making your way through these strange and uncertain times safely. We here at Treasure House Books and Gifts are doing our best to survive the pandemic, and though it isn’t easy, we still here, providing you with the best in New Mexico books & New Mexico authors. We thought we’d take this opportunity to catch you up on what’s going on with the store.
It’s that time of year again, where we ask you to show your support for us by voting for us as Best Bookstore in the Albuquerque The Magazine Best of the City 2020 Poll. Thanks to your help, we’ve made it in the Top 5 for six years in a row, and would sure like to make it seven. Please vote, but hurry, as the poll closes on August 1. Most of you know by now that we have our own website up and running. So far we are featuring local mystery novels and children’s books for purchase on the site, but our selection keeps expanding daily. we also offer a regular email newsletter to keep you up to date on events, new books and specials. We are still taking donations of any good condition used books to help expand our inventory.4) Stop in and see us, 12 PM to 4 PM Thursday through Sunday.
On a personal note, it has been a rough five months for us, emotionally, mentally and financially, but we are doing the best we can. To paraphrase Bob & Ray, we are “hanging by our thumbs.” I’m exercising regularly, doing Qi Gong to relax, and catching up on chores at home, Susan is work on her beadwork, and Jim is keeping busy at home and still helping to put the flags up on Old Town Plaza daily. We’ll all get through this, one way or another, and we thank you for your support! Stay safe, wear a mask and be well.
