Contests, discounts, free books and virtual events for Independent Bookstore Day!

Independent Bookstore Day is Saturday, August 29, and Treasure House Books & Gifts plans to celebrate in a big way! We will be open 10 AM to 6:00 PM to give our customers more time to shop! We will also offer a number of contests, specials, and virtual events via Facebook and Instagram. The list of offers and events will continue to to expand as we get closer to August 29. Keep Watching this post for updates. Here is what is planned as of 8/22:


CONTESTS:
1) PICTURE CONTEST: Post a picture of yourself in front of our store or holding a book you bought from us. Tag our store and #bookstoreday2020. One random winner from these posts will win a $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE for our store.. The winner will be announced online via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter at 6 PM August 29.

2) Buy a book online at our website – treasurehousebooks.net on Saturday August 29th, and be entered in a drawing to win a $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE for In-store purchases.

3) Buy a book in-store on August 29, and enter to win a $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE.

OFFERS:
1) Make a book purchase of over $20 in-store on Saturday August 29 and choose a FREE book from a select group of books we’ll have available.

2) 10% OFF Over 30 select Rio Grande Press titles. Applies to in-store purchase or phone orders only. Not available online. Sale prices valid 8/27 through 9/6. We’ll publish a full list on our website & social media prior to 8/27.

3) All $1.95 used mass market paperbacks $1.00 8/29 – 8/30 only.

11:30 AM: VIDEO – The gypsy Esmarelda from the “Spiral Map of Time” Fantasy series talks about the books by author ZELDA LEAH GATUSKIN.

12:00 PM: VIDEO PREMIERE – A recorded chat with ROSS VAN DUSEN, author and illustrator of the children’s books “How The Crocka Dog Came to Be” and “Lyle Got Stuck In A Tree.” Ross will give us some insights on how he creates the art for his books.

12:30 PM: VIDEO: Author RACHEL BATE tells us about her children’s books.

1:00 PM: VIDEO PREMIERE – A recorded chat with SUE HOUSER, author of the new middle grade novel “Wilmettie,” based on the story of her grandmother who homesteaded New Mexico in the early 1900s.

2:00 PM: VIDEO PREMIERE – A recorded chat with MARGARET TESSLER, author of several New Mexico set mysteries, including her most recent “Relative Danger.”

5:00 PM: VIDEO PREMIERE – A recorded chat with RICHARD MELZER and JOHN TAYLOR, authors & editors of many books on New Mexico’s Rio Abajo. including “Tragic Tales & Enchanted Journeys: More Tales of the Rio Abajo.”
