United States Intelligence services learn China has developed and is currently manufacturing a new high-tech drone. A drone that has never been seen before. The drone is invisible to radar. Invisible to satellites. Invisible to current air defense systems. It is quiet and has no infra-red signature. It is heavily armed. Worse yet, the Chinese are about to sell the drone to Russia. This drone, code named, Sleeping Dragon, will change the course of the war in Ukraine to Russia’s favor. It will enable China to easily defeat Taiwan’s air defense so it can destroy strategic targets prior to an invasion. Sleeping Dragon attacks could devastate American Military Bases throughout Asia. Leaving the whole Pacific Region vulnerable to Chinese domination.
The American President is asked to authorize a special operations mission to penetrate deep into China in order to steal the Sleeping Dragon’s technology. A covert bombing mission or cruise missiles cannot accomplish the mission. Boots on the ground are required because destroying the factory would only slow the manufacturing process. The U.S. must obtain the top-secret Chinese drone in order to reverse-engineer and understand the technology. Only then can the U.S. develop systems designed to defeat and destroy Sleeping Dragons before they can destroy their targets.
Major Jax Adler and his team are called up for this mission. Many high-ranking officers call it a suicide mission and advise the President not to grant his approval. A select few officers believe the mission can be accomplished. With the future of freedom at stake, the President, reluctantly authorizes the mission. Jax’s team accepts the mission without question.
